TECHNICAL DIVING
Phuket is world-renowned for its turquoise waters and vibrant reefs, but for a certain breed of diver, the real adventure begins where the sunlight starts to fade.
If you are looking to push past the 40-meter recreational limit, manage complex gas switches, and embrace the discipline of staged decompression, Phuket is the ultimate classroom. Here is an introduction to Technical Diving in the Andaman Sea, specifically through the lens of TDI (Technical Diving International).
Technical diving isn't just "deep diving." It is a shift in mindset.
While recreational diving relies on a direct ascent to the surface, Technical Diving involves "virtual overheads" - mandatory decompression stops - that prevent you from surfacing immediately.

TDI - NITROX 🎖

This is the entry-level certification course for recreational divers wishing to utilize enriched air Nitrox (EAN) as a breathing gas.
The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for using Nitrox mixes from 22 through 40 percent oxygen content.
Training Prerequisites:
-
Minimum age 18, 15 with parental consent.
-
Minimum certification of SDI Open Water Scuba Diver, or equivalent.
Course Structure:
-
2 Open water dives are recommended but are not required.

⚠️ Guests must produce their certification card, prior to diving.
Failure to do so may result in trip cancellation or being refused diving. ⚠️

TDI - INTRO TO TECH🎖

The primary goal of Intro to Tech is not depth or decompression, but precision. It focuses on perfecting a diver's foundation (buoyancy, trim, and technique) using technical equipment configurations. It serves as a "probationary" step to see if a diver is ready for advanced courses like Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures.

⚠️ Guests must produce their certification card, prior to diving.
Failure to do so may result in trip cancellation or being refused diving. ⚠️

This course is designed to teach certified divers how to safely utilize side-mounted primary cylinders as an alternative to the traditional back-mounted configuration.
Training Prerequisites:
-
Minimum age 18.
-
Minimum certification of SDI Open Water Scuba Diver, or equivalent.
Course Structure:
-
Course must be taught over a minimum of 2 days.
-
3 Open water dives are required.

⚠️ Guests must produce their certification card, prior to diving.
Failure to do so may result in trip cancellation or being refused diving. ⚠️

TDI - ADVANCED NITROX🎖

This course examines the use of EAN-21 through 100% Oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of 40m.
The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for utilizing EAN-21 through 100%
Training Prerequisites:
-
Minimum age 18.
-
Minimum certification of TDI Nitrox Diver, or equivalent.
-
Provide proof of 25 logged open water dives.
Course Structure:
-
4 Open water dives are required.

⚠️ Guests must produce their certification card, prior to diving.
Failure to do so may result in trip cancellation or being refused diving. ⚠️

TDI - DECOMPRESSION PROCEDURES

The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 45m.
Training Prerequisites:
-
Minimum age 18.
-
Minimum certification of SDI Advanced Adventure Diver, or equivalent.
-
Provide proof of 25 logged open water dives.
Course Structure:

⚠️ Guests must produce their certification card, prior to diving.
Failure to do so may result in trip cancellation or being refused diving. ⚠️

TDI - EXTENDED RANGE

This course provides training and experience required to competently utilize air for dives up to 55m that requires staged decompression, utilizing nitrox mixtures or oxygen during decompression.
Training Prerequisites:
-
Minimum age 18
-
Certified as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and TDI Decompression Procedures Diver, or equivalents.
-
Provide proof of a minimum of 100 logged dives, of which 25 must be deeper than 30m.
⚠️ Guests must produce their certification card, prior to diving.
Failure to do so may result in trip cancellation or being refused diving. ⚠️
